Short answer
Turn on text-to-speech in the IGOverlay Overlay Studio under Audio, pick a voice, speed and volume, and save. Each new Instagram Live comment is spoken as it appears on your overlay.
Turn on text-to-speech
- 1
Open the Overlay Studio
Sign in at igoverlay.nmnvisuals.com/config with the same account you use in the extension.
- 2
Go to Audio
Switch on text-to-speech and choose a voice. Leave it on the default to use the browser's standard voice.
- 3
Set speed and volume
Speed runs from 0.5× to 2×; volume from 0 to 100%. Use the preview to hear it.
- 4
Save
Your open overlay picks up the change straight away.
Voices and audio
Speech is generated by the browser that renders your overlay, using the voices installed on that computer, so the list differs between Windows and macOS.
Always run a short test stream first. If the speech doesn't reach your stream mix, open your overlay URL in a Chrome tab and capture your desktop audio in OBS or Streamlabs.
